Andreas CAS #19 (A) Learning Outcome 2

Andreas Cantu  This past week I have been condemned to my household for distance learning. Our school, unfortunately, had a Covid exposure two weeks ago and we were forced into distance learning for two weeks. While I was and still kinda am upset about this situation, I found certain things I can do to help me get over it. The most important thing I could during this time was a consistent exercise at the end of every day. My physical health has become very important to me during the time of Covid because I found myself taking very little care of it. I had been spending so much time at home doing very little that I had completely fallen off. So with the start of the new year, I had made a promise to myself that I would slowly but surely get back into what I considered my peak physical condition. Furthermore, I'm taking advantage of these two weeks to continue my promise. Even though I faced physical challenges during my journey back to the top, I learned a lot about how I shou...

Andreas CAS #18 (A) Learning Outcome 7

Andreas Cantu  On the last day of the Golf J-Term, the entire class was split up into different groups to play the tournament to end the J-Term. I was particularly excited about this event because I had been practicing extra hard in preparation for the tournament. This tournament would consist of six teams being split up into 8-9 groups of 3-5. However, the catch was that everyone needed to be honest so that the scores would be accurate and the proper winners could be awarded praise and bragging rights. I was lucky enough to be placed in a group of three, this made moving throughout the course much easier as I did not have to wait as long for everyone to hit their ball. While this tournament was pretty straightforward, I was almost immediately placed in a situation where my morals and ethics were put to the test. I watched as one of my group members illegally moved their ball and played it from a completely different lie, they asked me to not tell anyone and just continue pla...

Andreas CAS #17 (S) Learning Outcome 5

Andreas Cantu  With the second semester of my Junior year beginning, the school kicked it off with the annual J-Term. This year, however, was a little different, due to the Coronavirus we were unable to travel anywhere for any of the courses. Luckily, Mr. Roddy organized a golf J-Term and I was immediately hooked. The first week went by and I felt very good about my contributions to others throughout the week. Thanks to my previous expierences with golf, I was able to assist Mr. Roddy and Mr. Jacobs with the explanation and demonstrations of specific aspects of the wonderful game of golf. It was a lot of fun for me to be able to help teach this game to other prospective players of the game. However, while I may love the game of golf, that does not neccesarily mean that my skill matches my love of the game. So I used this time to both teach and learn from my teachers and fellow classmates. There were certianly times that proved to be quite frustrating for me and those I was tr...
